Wilder Learning Bursary School Trips
Take your children on a fully funded journey of learning and discovery
The Wilder Learning bursary provides a free led 'Habitat Discovery' (KS1/2) or 'Wildlife Explorer' (EYFS) school trip for a chosen year group to either Robinswood Hill or Crickley Hill, and transport if needed. This bursary is open to all Gloucestershire primary schools with greater than 20% free school meals eligibility. Our skilled and experienced learning team will lead your visit and engage the children’s heads, hearts and hands. Sessions link with KS1 or KS2 science and geography curricula and give opportunities for developing literacy and numeracy skills.

Things to know before your visit
Staffing ratios:

-
Reception: one adult per five children

Years 1-3: one adult per six children
-
Years 4-6: one adult per eight children

Ratios do not include one-to-one support or Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust staff and volunteers
As you will probably have a coach company that you already have a relationship with, and you know where/how you’d like them to pick up at school, it makes sense for you to book your own coaches. We can cover the cost of your coaches for up to £300 for each visit. Please book your coaches and ask them to invoice Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust directly. Please do not pay for your own coach!
On the day of your visit
The children will work together as a class for the day. In case we need to divide them up within an activity, it will be helpful to have them pre-assigned in groups with your helping adults.
Please ensure that the children and adults are dressed appropriately for the season and the weather forecast for the local area including layers for cold weather and sun cream and sunhat for sunny days. Please ask the learning team if you need more information.
It’s important that the children have wellington boots and a change of shoes/socks in case their feet get wet.
