Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust (GWT) welcomes naturalists, ecologists, geologists and archaeologists who wish to undertake studies or surveys on GWT reserves.
Such activities will normally be permitted, but permission must be secured from GWT prior to commencement. This is necessary to ensure compliance with GWT’s legal obligations, avoid conflict with other site activities, safeguard wildlife from significant detrimental impacts and agree how data will be shared with GWT.
GWT receives many requests to undertake wildlife surveying and recording on its reserves, particularly for popular species such as birds, butterflies and moths. To avoid unnecessary disturbance of wildlife, permission will be prioritised to data deficient species groups and for standardised monitoring rather than ad hoc recording.
