Sylvia and Helen were so concerned about the impact of litter on wildlife that they decided to clean up green areas in their neighbourhood, while at the same time fundraising for Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust. They made a huge difference by collecting a phenomenal amount of rubbish - you can see their photos here. They also raised a whopping £958 to support our work. What an achievement, thank you so much for all your hard work!
At the age of 4, Henry loves wildlife so much that he embarked on a mission to make a difference. Not only did he go litter picking while participating in this year’s 30 Days Wild, but he also raised £125 for us. As one of our youngest fundraisers ever, he really is a champion for wildlife. Thank you, Henry!
Heidi takes part in our 30 Days Wild campaign every year. In 2021 she decided to walk 30 miles in 30 days for wildlife and raised an incredible £510 for us while doing so. Fantastic work, Heidi, well done!
Gloucestershire County Council’s Commissioning Team organised a cake sale at Shire Hall to raise funds for Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust. The cakes fetched an amazing £55.05 and they also had some of our leaflets on display to raise awareness about our work – thank you for both!
Gerry, a ranger at Forest Holidays in the Forest of Dean, is an avid supporter of Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust and has been fundraising for us for years.
In 2016 he completed the National Forest Way 75 mile ultra run for the Barn Owl Recovery Project, raising £1350. In 2018 he was back to support us by doing yet another endurance event, a 53-mile Ultra Marathon, and donated £1200 towards our work.
In 2019 he upped the stakes in aid of Project Pine Marten by running a number of races totalling just over 223 miles, the mileage symbolically chosen to replicate the distance of the translocation. He raised an astonishing £2050 for GWT – read more about Gerry’s epic feats on JustGiving.
Rob Matthews was Cotswold Hills Golf Club’s Senior Captain in 2019 who decided to support Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust as one of his chosen charities of the year. He arranged an in-house competition and a series of collections throughout 2019 and managed to raise £1100, while at the same time raised awareness of our work. Thank you, Rob, and everyone who contributed to this fundraising success!
Izzy ran the Stroud Half Marathon in 2018 and managed to raise funds for two charities, Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust being one of them. She raised over £50 for us and also achieved a new personal best time! Congratulations, Izzy!
