Stroud and Tewkesbury Waterscapes Project
The Stroud and Tewkesbury Waterscapes project is using nature-based interventions to help limit the impact of flooding on local habitats and improve the resilience of local communities, by reducing flood risk and boosting biodiversity for nature and people to enjoy.
Thanks to founding partners Intact Insurance, and partners the Environment Agency and Gloucestershire County Council, we’ve been able to continue this project after a very successful Phase One in Cheltenham and Gloucester. The project is part of Intact Insurance’s commitment to building resilient communities and helping people, businesses and society adapt to a changing climate.
The project will use rain gardens, green roofs, and permeable paving, all of which are Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS). These solutions are ways of addressing flooding by capturing water and slowing the flow while cleaning the water and increasing wildlife areas
How can you get involved?
The project is looking for suitable locations to add SuDS like rain gardens. If you have any land or space or know of an area that might benefit from this work, we want to hear from you. This space might be outside your local community hub, or on your business site, or a paved area in your local town or village that could do with some more wildlife.
Please complete the form below and we’ll get in touch. We’d love to hear from you and for you to get involved.
